Iran's Mazandaran province and Russia's Astrakhan city signed a number of memorandums of understanding in Mazandaran's capital city Sari to boost economic ties.
The two sides vowed to expand cooperation in the field of agriculture, industry and mining, technical and engineering, as well as tourism, Iran's IRNA news agency reported on April 30.
They also signed agreements to boost cooperation between public media centers and municipalities.
Astrakhan governor said that expanding relations between Iran and Russia is a key strategic approach in the region.
Governor of Astrakhan Region Alexander Zhilkin, heading a delegation of 60 cultural and economic officials and media persons, arrived in Mazandaran on Monday.
