Kazakh entrepreneurs will be obliged to inform in advance the competent services of the goods transported within the Customs Union, the press service of the Kazakh Ministry of Transport and Communications said.

"Kazakhstan will launch a pilot project to introduce prior informing of the customs authorities about the imported goods into the territory of the Customs Union by rail in the near future. The system will tested in some areas during the summer period," the statement said.

The chairman of Committee of transport and means of communication of the ministry, Erkin Meyrbekov said that at present, checking of the documents is carried out upon the fact of arrival of the goods at the customs post which takes a few hours and lead to delay of shipping.

"In accordance with the preliminary information system, the carrier should submit to the customs service the information about the product not less than two hours before the actual arrival of the post. This will allow the customs authorities to produce quality inspection of documents in a short time, as well as reduce the time of delivery of goods," he said.

The specified procedure will obtain the mandatory status from October 1, 2014, the committee chairman said.
