By Rufiz Hafizoglu - Trend:

Yatagan private thermal power plant (TPP) with a capacity of 633 megawatts temporarily suspended its activity in the province of Mugla, southwestern Turkey, Turkish news agency Anadolu said Sept. 16.

The reason is the technical problems in the power plant turbines.

The exact date of resuming its activity is undetermined.

Yatagan TPP was privatized in June 2014 by Elsan Elektrik local company (established in 1980), offering $1.090 billion for the power station.

Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz said in June 2014 that the number of power stations in the country exceeded 1,000, of which 1,002 power stations are working.
