A department of coordination of High-Tech Park Ltd. and the State Fund for Development of Information Technologies of Azerbaijan will be created under the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies of Azerbaijan, a source on the telecommunications market told Trend Jan.29.
One of the main tasks assigned to the ministry until 2020, is the transformation of Azerbaijan to a manufacturer and exporter country of high-tech products and services, according to the source.
"All the prospective technology and innovation costly projects implemented in this area will be provided with the necessary financial support of the government," said the source.
Currently, negotiations are underway with the world's leading IT sector companies on the possibility of organizing their production in Azerbaijan with the participation of local companies in this process.
'The Azerbaijani market is small and expansion to foreign markets is needed in order to achieve results in this area," said the source. "In order to achieve this goal it is necessary to create a strong human resource capacity, favorable business environment and opportunities for simplified access of private sector to financial resources."
