Georgia imported products worth $194.03 million from Azerbaijan in January-May 2016, or 20.1 percent less than in the same period of 2015, said the report issued by Georgia’s National Statistics Office.
For comparison: Georgia imported Azerbaijani goods worth $242.75 million in January-May 2015.
Azerbaijan ranked sixth among countries from which Georgia imports products.
Some 5.9 percent accounts for Azerbaijan’s export in a total volume of goods supplied to Georgia, said the report.
Georgia mainly imported goods from Turkey ($537.43 million with a 16.3 percent of a total import volume).
Georgia also imported goods from Canada ($423.62 million with a 12.9 percent of a total volume of Georgian import), Russia ($254.84 million with a 7.7 percent share), Ireland ($228.63 million or 7 percent) and China ($202.33 million or 6.2 percent of a total volume of Georgian import).
Georgia primarily imports gas, oil products and construction materials from Azerbaijan.
