Change of shareholders at largest Kazakh telecom company

Shareholder structure of the Kazakhtelecom JSC, the largest telecommunication company in Kazakhstan, has changed, said the message posted on the website of the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) July 5.

The UK-based Sobrio Limited company became new major shareholder of the Kazakhtelecom JSC in the result of a deal implemented within one group.

Sobrio Limited acquired blocks of shares of the Kazakhtelecom from its affiliates - Bodam B.V. and Deran Services B.V. (the Netherlands) companies.

As a result of the deal, Sobrio Limited became the owner of 24.47 percent of common shares of the Kazakhtelecom JSC.

The owner of all the three companies is Kazakh businessman Alexander Klebanov.

The deal was implemented in order to optimize and make the ownership structure of the Kazakhtelecom transparent in the process of preparation for a possible IPO (Initial public offering), the message said.
