Ore extraction up in Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan increased ore extraction in January- February 2017 as compared to the same period of 2016

Kazakhstan increased ore extraction in January- February 2017 as compared to the same period of 2016, said the Kazakh Statistics Committee.

Iron ore extraction in Kazakhstan during the period increased by 14.4 percent to 5.88 million tons.
Copper ore extraction increased by 54 percent to 14.55 million tons.

Production of crude steel increased by 8.6 percent to 697,392 tons, while production of flat rolled steel fell by 5 percent to 402,432 tons.
Production of unprocessed zinc decreased by 1 percent and hit 52,921 tons.

Refined copper production decreased by 3.3 percent to 65,412 tons in January-February 2017 as compared to the same period of 2016.
Production of raw aluminum increased by 0.6 percent to 283,829 tons.
Production of ferroalloys increased by 10.4 percent to 318,969 tons.
