Baku, Azerbaijan, Sept. 6
By Anvar Mammadov – Trend:
Chief Executive Officer of Creditinfo Group Stefano Stoppani will visit Baku in late September, Elchin Ahmadov, CEO of Creditinfo Azerbaijan, told Trend Sept. 6.
“Stoppani’s appointment has happened recently, and he is going to make one of his first visits to Azerbaijan. The visit’s purpose will be discussing organizational issues in connection with the creation of the first private credit bureau in the country. Meetings will be held in order to get familiarized with the market, founders of the bureau, and the financial regulator,” said Ahmadov, adding that the Azerbaijani market is of great interest for Creditinfo.
Touching upon the activity of the credit bureau, Ahmadov said a discussion currently is underway on organizational issues.
“I think this process will last until the end of the month. After that, we will be engaged in registration the next month,” he added.
Currently, the list of the credit bureau’s founders includes 21 organizations, and there are 19 banks, one insurance company and one non-bank credit organization among them. Along with them, the list of founders includes Creditinfo as a technical partner with 51 percent of shares of the bureau.
The private credit bureau will contain more information than the Centralized Credit Registry and cover a big number of borrowers. The bureau will receive information not only from banks, but also from insurance and leasing companies, municipal institutions, mobile operators and others.
