Uzbekistan to reduce import duties on number of goods

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree on September 29, which revises the rates of customs duties and excise tax on goods, imported by the country.

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree on September 29, which revises the rates of customs duties and excise tax on goods, imported by the country. New rates will enter into force on October 1.

The revision of rates aims at satisfying the consumer demand of the population and preventing the growth of prices in local markets, as well as the creation of favorable conditions for the local producers to import necessary equipment and raw materials, Gazeta.uz reported.

The decree abolished the import duty on oil and oil products, large and small cattle, meat of large and small cattle, fish products, milk, potatoes, cereals, flour and other goods.

Duties and the excise tax on a number of goods have been significantly reduced.
