ICD, Azerbaijan to mull implementation of new projects

Khaled Mohammed Al-Aboodi, CEO of the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD), will visit Baku in March 2018, a source in Azerbaijan’s financial market told Trend Nov. 10.

The delegation led by Al-Aboodi will take part in the first Azerbaijani-Arab investment forum, according to the source. During the visit, Al-Aboodi plans to meet with representatives of the Azerbaijani government, as well as with ICD partners from the private sector.

“The sides will discuss the issues of cooperation, the state of current projects, as well as the possibility of implementing new projects in Azerbaijan,” the source said.

Earlier, Chairman of the “Cooperation of Azerbaijan and Arab Countries” Public Association Elshan Rahimov said that around 300 businessmen and investors from Arab countries are expected to arrive in Baku to take part in the first Azerbaijani-Arab investment forum.

“The Kanoo Group, a UAE-based diversified business conglomerate, is among the guests to attend the forum,” Rahimov said.

The ICD was created in 1999 and has been operating in Azerbaijan since 2003.
