The success gained as part of achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) will be reflected in the document entitled “Baku Principles”, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Economy Minister Sevinj Hasanova said at a seminar on the program of the UN SDG on Feb. 14.
She said that a regular conference on the UN SDG will be held in Baku in September, as part of which the approval of the document is planned.
In turn, the UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan Ghulam Isaczai noted that these principles envisage further steps to support implementation of SDG in Azerbaijan.
He noted that the parties are preparing to adopt a document that will promote sustainable development, adding that the signing of the document may become a good example for other countries of the region.
The SDG were adopted by the UN member countries in September 2015. Overall, there are 17 goals and 169 tasks to be implemented in 2016-2030.
