Azerbaijani companies exported non-oil goods worth $123 million in January 2018, according to the Export Review, published by the Center for Economic Reforms Analysis and Communication on March 5.
Excluding oil and gas, Azerbaijan mainly exported gold ($17.2 million), persimmon ($13.4 million), polyethylene ($9.7 million), peeled hazelnuts ($9 million) and tomatoes ($7.9 million).
According to the report, in January 2018, Azerbaijan significantly increased exports of electricity (by 86 percent), fruits and vegetables (by 45 percent), chemical products (by 36 percent) and cotton (by 20 percent) compared to the same period last year.
Russia ranks first among importers of Azerbaijan’s non-oil products. In the period, goods worth $36.8 million were exported to Russia, which is followed by Turkey ($23 million), Switzerland ($17.9 million), Georgia ($11.3 million) and China ($4.4 million).
