Over the past 10 years, 5 billion Turkish liras have been invested in the transport infrastructure of the Van province located in the south-east of Turkey, the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications of Turkey told Trend March 12.
Sixteen projects worth a total of 2.2 billion Turkish liras are being implemented in the province, according to the ministry.
The construction of two tunnels, the total length of which will be 7,900 meters, is at the development stage, the ministry noted.
Presently, 40 road and three railway tunnels operate in Turkey.
