Azerbaijan’s trade turnover with five main trade partners reached 1.79 billion manats in January-February 2018, which accounts for 48.9 percent of all volume of the country’s trade turnover, said a report of Azerbaijan’s State Customs Committee March 12.
In January-February 2018, Italy ranked first in the list of Azerbaijan’s foreign trading partners with a trade turnover of $630.28 million and a specific weight of 17.21 percent. Italy is followed by Russia - $327.12 million (8.93 percent), Germany – $314.1 million (8.58 percent), Turkey – $289.2 million (7.9 percent) and Israel – $232.35 million (6.35 percent).

Italy remains leader for consumption of Azerbaijani goods in January-February 2018. The country accounted for $586.56 million (26.54 percent) of Azerbaijan’s total export volume.
Italy is followed by Israel - $227.51 million (10.29 percent), Germany - $185.65 million (8.4 percent), Canada - $137.14 million (6.21 percent) and Indonesia - $134.41 million (6.08 percent). The share of these countries in total export volume of Azerbaijan is 57.52 percent.
In January-February 2018, Azerbaijan imported goods worth $243.39 million (16.77 percent) from Russia. Russia ranked first for this indicator and was followed by Turkey - $195.31 million (13.52 percent), China - $137.83 million (9.5 percent), Germany - $124.45 million (8.85 percent) and the US- $79.89 million (5.5 percent). The share of these countries in total import volume of Azerbaijan is 54.14 percent.
In January-February 2018, Azerbaijan exported goods worth $2.21 billion, which is 33.9 percent more than in the same period last year. In January-February 2018, imports amounted to $1.45 billion, which is 49.3 percent more than in January-February 2017. The surplus in January-February 2018 amounted to $758.92 million, which is 11.3 percent more than in January-February 2017.
