Azerbaijan and Romania have a lot of untapped potential for the expansion of bilateral trade, and the countries should do more together to take advantage of these opportunities, Member of Parliament of Romania, President of Azerbaijan-Romania Parliamentary Friendship Group Victor Paul Dobre told Trend.

“If we look at the latest data, the picture we get is quite optimistic. Trade has grown without interruption over the past years; more than that, 2017 was a record-breaking year with two-way trade reaching almost $400 million,” said Dobre.

He stressed that Romania has a dynamic and diverse economy, with a strong industrial base and an expanding service sector, which can provide competitive products for potential clients in Azerbaijan.

“At the same time, as Azerbaijan is developing and diversifying its economy, the scope for joint projects can only grow. We need to bring closer together those who can turn these positive factors into concrete projects – businessmen, companies, professionals,” said Dobre.
