Head of Kazakhstan’s Mangistau Region, Eraly Tugzhanov met with representatives of the Spanish Sistemecs Engineering and Construction company, the press service of the local executive body said in a message.
The Spanish investors expressed willingness to participate in the implementation of several projects in Mangystau during the meeting.
"We have a free economic zone here in our region and we would like to introduce all the conditions and benefits of this zone. I instruct the heads of relevant departments to prepare projects that may also interest investors," Tugzhanov said.
The regional administration also signed a memorandum of cooperation with Sistemecs Engineering and Construction.
Sistemecs Engineering and Construction offers the development, financing, installation of equipment and assistance in the subsequent operation and maintenance of such projects as the construction of a seawater desalination plant with a capacity of 10,000 cubic meters per day, construction of alternative power plants (solar and wind power) with a capacity of 50 mW, as well as the construction of a regional medical complex to serve the population of Mangystau, Atyrau, West Kazakhstan and Aktobe regions.
