The production of vermicompost is developing in the agro-industrial segment of Turkmenistan, the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper wrote.
This refers to agrobiological technology of processing organic substrates into environmentally friendly fertilizers.
The newspaper brings up the name of entrepreneur Dovlet Berdyev, who is successfully working in this direction. The report said he owns a farm in the country's Bakharden district (Akhal region), where he as built a box for breeding worms on the 400 square meters area.
Berdyev has certified and sold the first several tons of commercial vermicompost, planning to enter the foreign market in the future.
The quality of the produced vermicompost was tested in the cultivation of vegetable-melon crops on stony and poor soil. The experiment exceeded expectations, intensive growth and abundant fruiting were observed on the site.
