Azerbaijan exported goods totaling $12.88 billion in January-August 2018, which is 78.4 percent more than in the same period of 2017, the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee said.
The share of the public sector in exports amounted to $9.1 billion (71.1 percent), private sector – $3.7 billion (28.7 percent), individuals – $51.7 million. The share of the private sector in exports increased from 19.2 percent to 28.7 percent for the year.
Azerbaijan exported oil and oil products, gas, fruits, vegetables, aluminum and plastics most of all during the reporting period.

The volume of imports amounted to $6.86 billion during the reporting period, which is 29.4 percent more than in January-August 2017.
The share of the public sector in import operations amounted to $1.27 billion, private sector – to $5.2 billion, individuals – to $387.7 million.
Among the most popular products imported by Azerbaijan during the reporting period was various machinery, ferrous metals and products made of them, vehicles and spare parts for them, plastic and products made of plastic and wood and products made of wood.

In general, Azerbaijan's foreign trade operations increased by almost 57.6 percent amounting to $19.7 billion in January-August 2018 compared to the same period of 2017.
The positive balance in the reporting period amounted to more than $6 billion, which is more than threefold as much as in January-August 2017 ($1.9 billion).
Azerbaijan exported 2,670 types of goods and imported 7,140 types of goods during the reporting period.
Azerbaijan's foreign trade partners are 174 countries. Some 15,673 legal entities and individuals (5,917 legal entities and 9,756 individuals) participated in foreign trade activities overall during the reporting period.
