Development of an irrigation project involving the construction of a concrete canal and the installation of two water reservoirs in the Yalama agricultural park in the Mukhtadir village will be completed by the end of October this year, director of the agro-park, Zaur Aliyev, told Trend Oct. 17.

He noted that the construction in the territory of the agro-park will begin early next month, and according to preliminary calculations, it will be completed in 5-6 months.

"Approximately in April, after full completion of the construction, aimed at restoring the irrigation and drainage system, we will begin to introduce the pivot system in the Mukhtadir village," Aliyev said.

With the pivot system, the agro-park plans to fully restore the irrigation in the village until the beginning of the second half of 2019, Aliyev said.

"The state has allocated 1 million manats for irrigation, and the investment by the Yalama agricultural park is about $2 million," he said.

The agricultural parks are of great importance for expanding exports of non-oil products to foreign markets, creating national brands, forming a coordinated unified system in agriculture, as well as producer-processor-consumer relations, training qualified personnel in agriculture and opening new jobs.
