Syria could serve as Iran's gate to Arab world – official
Tehran, Iran, Oct. 20
Masoud Khansari, director of the Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture, said Syria can play a key role in reconstructing the Arab country.
Khansari added that Damascus could serve as Tehran’s gate to the Arab world and facilitate the export of Iranian goods.
“Many Iranian businesspeople have voiced readiness to gain a foothold in the war-stricken country’s economy following the defeat of terrorist groups,” he said.
We can export technical and engineering products to Syrian and import other goods, Khansari said.
Many urban hubs across Syria, particularly around Damascus, have been hard-hit by hostilities, and President Bashar Assad has said that rebuilding would be his “top priority”.
