Kazakhstan’s Investment and Development Ministry formed a list of 34 projects of transnational companies worth about $10.6 billion, Minister Zhenis Kassymbek said, according to Kazinform.

He noted that 12 projects worth $1.4 billion are at the implementation stage, and eight of them, worth about $1 billion, have moved to the active implementation stage this year.

The minister also added that a three-tier investment attraction system has been formed in Kazakhstan.

At the external level, this is the responsibility of the Foreign Ministry, investment advisors at foreign institutions of Kazakhstan and representatives of Kazakh Invest JSC. At the central level, investments are attracted by the Investment Committee of the Investment and Development Ministry and Kazakh Invest, and at the regional level – by local executive bodies and regional representatives of Kazakh Invest.

In addition, work has been done to improve the investment climate in accordance with the standards of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.

"The ministry takes an active part in the meetings of the Investment Committee in the status of associate member. We have significantly changed our legislation, simplified the permit system, taxation, customs control, as well as migration and visa regime," Kassymbek noted.
