High Tech Park LLC of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences is preparing to obtain a license for recycling used car batteries, Director of the High Tech Park Nazim Shukurov told Trend.
He noted that in this regard the High Tech Park is preparing a package of documents to submit to the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan.
"We may get the permission within the next six months," Shukurov said.
In a short period of time, as Shukurov noted, the High Tech Park managed to achieve significant results, in particular, investments have been attracted, a plant for the production of body armor and accessories, as well as a plant for the production of batteries have been built.
"As we know, presently, no batteries are produced in Azerbaijan, but imported. They are not recycled either, as this area of activity is licensed and regulated by the law. For this reason, after the plant is built, we will also begin the process of recycling batteries," Shukurov added.
