In January-October 2018, the number of enterprises with foreign capital operating in Uzbekistan grew by 1,734 (32.0 percent) and amounted to 7 155, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said in a report.
Of the total number of enterprises, 3,837 are joint ventures, 3,318 are companies with completely foreign capital.
Reportedly, the biggest number of enterprises with foreign capital is in the sphere of industry – 2,871 (40.1 percent), trade – 1,549 (21.6 percent) and other spheres – 1,195 (16.7 percent), the smallest – in the sphere of healthcare and social services – 90 (1.3 percent).
Of the total number of enterprises established during the nine months of 2018, 357 are with participation of capital of residents of Russia, 290 – Turkey, 261 – China, 212 – Kazakhstan, and 141 – South Korea. Also, interest in joint activities in 2018 was shown by residents of Afghanistan, India, Germany, Ukraine and Azerbaijan.
