Industry, agriculture grow in Kazakhstan’s Karaganda region

Since the beginning of 2018, industrial enterprises of Kazakhstan’s Karaganda region have manufactured products worth more than 2 trillion tenge, Trend reports with reference to the website of the region’s administration.

"Karaganda region completes 2018 with good results. Growth is expected in all indicators of socio-economic development," said the governor of the region Yerlan Koshanov.

He noted that in the 11 months positive dynamics of the main socio-economic indicators has been achieved.

"The industry achieved a growth of 2.3 percent. Agricultural production increased by 4.2 percent. As many as 362,000 square meters of housing were commissioned, which is 1.8 percent more compared to the same period last year," the head of the region said.

Meanwhile, fixed investments increased by 110 billion tenge, or 26.6 percent. Small business, where more than 84,000 entities are currently operating, is also growing.

"The positive dynamics of economic growth will allow us to fully fulfill all social obligations by the end of the year, as well as to ensure financing of development budget projects," Koshanov said.
