Iraqi officials invite Iranian companies to invest

The officials from Iraq's Saladin Province have invited Iranian companies to invest in the province, especially in the holly city of Samarra.

"We invite Iran's companies to invest in infrastructure of the province, and in the Samarra city as well," said the province's governor Ammar al-Jabr during a meeting with Iran's Ambassador to Iraq Iraj Masjedi , Trend reports citing IRNA.

"The infrastructure and facilities of Samarra city and the surrounding of shrines need more attention, to have better conditions for pilgrims,” he added.

Ammar al-Jabr said that the Saladin Province is "free from terrorist threats", and there have been efforts to develop this territory.

Meanwhile, Iran's ambassador noted that the Islamic Republic's role in re-construction of Iraq has already started and Tehran is very determined to continue.

He went on to add that "nothing can separate Iran and Iraq.

Referring to Iraqi Minister of Electricity's recent visit to Iran, the ambassador said that according to the agreements, Iranian companies would try to resolve the electricity crisis and power shortage in Iraq in the next three years.
