Kazakhstan increases production of buses by almost 600%

Kazakhstan has produced 8,304 passenger cars since the beginning of the year, and the market share of Kazakhstani cars in the first quarter exceeded 55 percent, Trend reports with reference to the Association of Kazakhstani Auto Business.

Demand for Kazakh-made cars continues to remain at a high level; in March, automakers released 2,902 units of equipment for a total of 17,271 million tenge.

The cumulative result of three months of 2019 exceeds production in January-March last year by 29.6 percent.

Association of Kazakhstan Auto Business (AKAB) states that in Kazakhstan, 8,822 vehicles of all types were produced for the amount of 56,503 million tenge in January-March 2019 against 6,806 units and 39,548 million tenge for the same period of 2018.

Over three months, 8,304 units (+27.9 percent), 205 trucks (+15.8 percent), 151 trailers and semi-trailers (+60.6 percent), 149 buses (+577.3 percent) and 13 units of other specialized equipment (-31.6 percent) were produced in the country.

The preliminary data demonstrates that “Saryarka AvtoProm” company in Kostanay city produced 3,328 units of cars, trucks and buses (+57.9 percent) in the first quarter.

Asia Auto enterprise in Ust-Kamenogorsk city has produced 5,049 cars (+14.5 percent).

SemAZ company in Semey city produced 94 trucks.

KAMAZ Engineering company in Kokshetau city produced 78 trucks, Daewoo Bus - 61 buses, on account of the Almaty city’s Hyundai Trans Auto 37 units of equipment.

In the first quarter, cars of local production exceeded half of all sales; from the beginning of the year, Kazakhs in total purchased over 7,500 domestic cars, which accounts for 55 percent of the market.

The results of three months shows that the largest growth is demonstrated by Hyundai, 2 322 cars produced by Saryarka AvtoProm were sold in the country, which is 104 percent more than in 2018.

Lada sales rose 31 percent to 3,354 units.

Kia is in third place with a score of 845 units (59 percent).

In the first quarter of 2019, 300 loans were issued for the purchase of Kazakhstan-made cars under the program of preferential loans.
