The search for shippers is underway to launch a container train on the route Minsk-Baku, a source at the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Belarus told Trend.
The source noted that the container train will give advantages to shippers from Belarus to reduce the delivery time of their goods to Azerbaijan, as well as favorable tariffs.
Answering the question about the start of operation of the container train on the Minsk-Baku route, the source said that while the exact time frame is unknown, however, there is an intention to realize the project soon.
The project of launching a container train on the Minsk-Baku route is being worked out by the Belarusian Railway together with the Russian Railways and Azerbaijan Railways as part of the development of the North-South corridor.
