“We are already working on reforms aimed at improving the management of mineral resources. We would like to introduce an integrated system that will greatly simplify the activities of the mining and business enterprises. In addition, we have planned bilateral meetings with potential donors and investors, because we believe that active work with them is an important way to attract global investors to the extractive industry,” said Nino Enukidze, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development.

According to Maya Zavrashvili, one of the main goals of the sector reform in Georgia is to increase the standards of transparency and accountability. The conference provides an opportunity for country leaders, as well as representatives of civil society and the mining industry to discuss current trends and practices in the field of mining.

The purpose of the event is to review the approaches developed in accordance with the principles of the EITI, which provide the best management in the sector and attract profitable investments.
