Georgia's international reserves up by over 25%

Georgia's international reserves amounted to $3.67 billion in July 2019, Trend reports citing the Parliament of Georgia.

According to the monthly macroeconomic review of the Budget Office of the Parliament of Georgia, the volume of international reserves in July 2019 increased by 25.6 percent compared to the same period of 2018.

At the same time, the volume of international reserves in July 2019 was 1.6 percent lower compared to June 2019.

It should be noted that in June 2019, the National Bank of Georgia bought $165 million at foreign exchange auctions and sold $32.8 million in August. In 2018, the Bank acquired $197.5 million.

As of December 31, 2018, the international reserves of the National Bank of Georgia amounted to $3.29 billion, which is the historical maximum since independence.

Over the past 2018, reserves increased by $250.5 million, or 8.2 percent. The previous record was recorded at the end of September 2018 and amounted to $3.15 billion.
