Azerbaijan’s Ganja Aluminum Plant is working on a project to produce cylindrical billets for the subsequent extrusion of aluminum profiles, a source at the plant told Trend.
A foreign company is also involved in the project, according to the source.
“The project was launched in early 2019 together with the Greek company Alumil S.A.,” the source noted. “At present, the new production of cylindrical billet blanks has been mastered at the available capacities (at the level of 1 percent of design capacity) of the Sumgait Technological Park (STP).”
To date, more than 6,000 tons of these products have been produced and sold to Europe, the source said.
The plant operates at full capacity, and all the workshops of the enterprise are involved.
The plant produces primary and final aluminum products, as well as semi-finished products in the form of aluminum sheets.
