US considers Georgia important partner for trade opportunities

Georgia is an important partner for the United States in terms of trade opportunities, said Steve Nikandros, founder of the international oil and gas corporation Frontera Resources, Trend reports citing the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia.

Georgian Minister of Environment and Agriculture Levan Davitashvili met with a delegation of the state of Texas, as well as representatives of French government agencies and the business community. The meeting was attended by Levan Mehuzla, chairman of the National Wine Agency of Georgia.

According to the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture of Georgia, the parties discussed the export potential of Georgian wine and spirits and the possibility of its implementation in the US market. The minister informed the delegation about the activities of the National Wine Agency of Georgia.

“The United States is Georgia’s strategic partner. Therefore, deepening of cooperation is important for us. I hope that the cooperation of Georgian producers with US companies will move to a new stage, and in the near future the United States will become one of the important buyers of Georgian wines,” Davitashvili said.

The French company Distillerie Tessendier et Fils at the meeting also paid attention to the quality of Georgian wine and the country's export potential.

According to the director general of the French company Jerome Tesandi, the company plans to sign a 25-year memorandum of cooperation with the Georgian alcohol company Bolero Group.
