Forty-one agriculture projects have been commissioned in Iran’s Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province, said Director General of the Agriculture Department of province Zabihollah Gharib, Trend reports citing IRNA.

He said that in addition, foundation for 12 for projects has been laid.

A total of 1.65 trillion rials (about $39.2 million) were allocated to 53 projects and 428 people received jobs, he noted.

“These projects are related to the water, fishing, packaging, processing and livestock breeding industries,” he said.

The Iranian fishmeal processing and packaging plant “Faradaneh” has spent over 100 billion rials (about $2.38 million), he noted, adding that the plant packs 8,000 tons of products per year.

“The third phase of the Zagros Meat and Milk Company has been commissioned,” he said. “Thus, the production of beef increased from 2,000 heads to 3,000 heads, while milk production reached 110 tons.”

He added that 240,000 tons of milk are annually produced in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province. The province meets 4 percent of Iran’s beef needs, he added.

More than 1 million tons of various agriculture, dairy and fishing products are annually produced in the province.

Iran’s Minister of Agriculture Mahmoud Hojjati attended the launching ceremony of the projects, the news report said.
