As many as 300 million euros have been allocated from Iran’s National Monetary Fund for the implementation of the Chabahar-Zahedan railway project in Iran’s Sistan and Baluchestan province, said governor of Sistan and Baluchestan province Ahmad-Ali Mohebati, Trend reports citing IRNA.

He said that the allocation of these funds will accelerate the improvement of the railway.

He added that commissioning of the railway project will increase the potential of the Chabahar port.

“Presently, only 10 percent of the potential of the Chahahar port is used,” he said.

According to Director General of the Ports and Maritime Organization of Iran’s Sistan and Baluchestan province Behrooz Aghaei, the volume of non-oil products loaded and unloaded at the Chabahar port since March 21, 2019 to September 6, 2019, increased by 43 percent compared to the same period last year.
