In the first five months (March 21-Aug. 22, 2019) of the current Iranian year, the production of car spare parts decreased by 27 percent in Iran, compared to the same period of the previous Iranian year, Chairman of Iranian Auto Parts Manufacturers Association Mohammad Reza Najafi-Manesh said, Trend reports citing Young Journalists Club.
Presently, the only problem of Iranian spare parts manufacturers is liquidity, Najafi-Manesh said. So far, this problem has not been solved in Iran, he added.
If the Central Bank of Iran provided 844 million euros last year to deal with this issue, we would not face the liquidity problem today, he noted.
Spare parts manufacturers can significantly increase the output in case the liquidity issue is solved, the chairman added.
Currently, manufacturers face difficulties in raw materials supplies, Najafi-Manesh said, adding that they need foreign currencies and suppliers to meet the needs.
According to the official exchange rate of the Iranian Central Bank, $1 is 42,000 rials, and it is possible to import the necessary products into the country according to this exchange rate, while in the black market, $1 is $114,000.
