Six-kilometer Anzob tunnel in Tajikistan will be modernized by Iranian specialists, Iran's Deputy Energy Minister Ghasem Taghizadeh said.
About $10.5 million will be spent for the modernization of the tunnel, Taghizadeh added, Trend reports referring to IRIB.
The deputy energy minister added that Iran and Tajikistan will equally finance the modernization project.
After the modernization of the tunnel, Iran and Tajikistan intend to launch other projects, Taghizadeh said.
The deputy energy minister said that the efforts are being made to achieve positive results in the development of cooperation between the two countries before the 13th meeting of the Iran-Tajikistan Joint Economic and Trade Commission to be held in Tehran on December 2-3, Taghizadeh added.
