Russia’s Ural Airlines company is working on launching flights to Kazakhstan on new routes, a representative of the company told Trend.

According to the statement of Kazakh Minister of Industry and Infrastructural Development Beibut Atamkulov earlier this year, a number of foreign air carriers are planning on entering Kazakh market, including Qatar Airways (2020), Emirates (2021), China Eastern (Shanghai, 2021), Ural Airlines and Pobeda.

A representative of the company said that the existing schedule of Ural Airlines already includes one direct flight to Kazakhstan.

“This flight is implemented daily on the route Almaty – Zhukovsky – Almaty,” the representative added.

He furthermore said that starting from December 22, the company is planning on launching direct flights on the route Yekaterinburg – Almaty – Yekaterinburg.

Talking about future plans of the company, the official noted that the company is interested in launching new flights to Kazakhstan.

“Currently, the company just started working on establishing new routes to Kazakhstan. The possibility of establishing new flights no earlier than the summer 2020 is being looked into,” the official concluded.

Earlier this year, President of Kazakhstan Kassym Jomart Tokayev has ordered to increase a number of international flights implemented from Nur-Sultan. Within the framework of the order, the government of Kazakhstan is looking into cooperating with foreign air companies.

Ural Airlines is a Russian air company, implementing regular, charter, internal and international flights. According to Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency rating, the company is among TOP-4 largest Russian air companies.
