A new strategy is required to increase export of Iran’s goods to China, Iran's Minister of Industry, Mining and Trade Reza Rahmani said.
Rahmani is on a visit to China to meet with Chinese officials and attend the 2nd China International Import Expo (CIIE) 2019, Trend reports referring to IRNA.
“The export of Iranian goods to China is not satisfactory compared to other countries,” the minister said.
Rahmani added that China imports goods worth $2 trillion from Iran a year.
"The Iranian Trade Promotion Organization has been instructed to change its structure and take steps to increase the export volume to China through the private sector," the minister said.
Rahmani added that 20 Iranian companies are participating in CIIE 2019. The companies from 150 countries are participating in the 2nd China International Import Expo being held in Shanghai.
For the first six months (from March 21 through September 22) of this Iranian year (began on March 21, 2019), Iran exported goods worth $5.1 billion to China.
Over 24.4 percent of Iran’s entire export volume accounted for China.
