Iran is ready to attract foreign investors, Iranian Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance Ismayil Jalili said.

Jalili made the remarks at the meeting of the Coordination Council for Economic Affairs and Finance in Iran’s Alborz province, Trend reports on Nov. 13 referring to IRNA.

“The Iranian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance and the Iranian Foreign Investment Board have created favorable investment opportunities in the country,” the deputy minister said.

Jalili stressed that most of the issues faced by foreign investors are international problems.

“The various favorable opportunities, preferences and simplification of registration procedure are envisaged for foreign investors in Iran,” the deputy minister said.

The deputy minister said that about $30 billion may be invested in the projects implemented in the Iran. “However, investors face restrictions when they want to transfer these funds to the country's banks,” Jalili said.

The US imposed the sanctions against Iran in November 2018, the list of which was expanded in several stages. As a result of the imposed sanctions, Iran was disconnected from the SWIFT system. This has created great problems for Iran while exchanging the funds with other countries.
