Fourlateral agreement for SEZ dev't signed in Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development, akimat (administrative center) of country’s Karaganda region and Association of Kazakhstan Machinery Industry signed fourlateral agreement on further development of Saryarka Special Economic Zone (SEZ), Trend reports with reference to the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The agreement signing took place within the framework of visit of Kazakhstan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Mukhtar Tleuberdi to SEZ where he got acquainted with activities of ventures operating with participation of foreign capital.

Furthermore, a meeting was held within the framework of the visit during which features of economic zones and the possibilities to attract foreign investment were discussed.

“We came just to see the SEZ and what can be offered to foreign investors. Good conditions for attracting investments have been created here. We want to set trend for development of mechanical engineering at SEZ,” Tleuberdi said.

Established in 2011, Saryarka SEZ operates in Kazakhstan’s Karaganda region. Fifteen participants are registered at the SEZ, seven projects of which were already implemented, whereas eight more projects are being implemented. Value of attracted investments exceeds 90 billion tenge (approximately $233.3 million).
