Iran prepares over 100 vessels to expand maritime tourism

TEHRAN, Iran, Dec.19

Iran has prepared to use 110 vessels with capacity to transport 10,000 tourists to improve its maritime tourism, said Deputy Head of Iran's Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO) for Maritime Affairs Jalil Eslami, Trend reports via IRNA.

"A special plan has been designed to manage safety of maritime trips, said Eslami.

"Iran's Ports and Maritime Organization has also rented 19 rescue vessels , 2 planes and 8 rescue helicopters to provide necessary services to travelers," he added.

The official has indicated the Iran's Ports and Maritime Organization priority is to improve maritime tourism and travels.

"All the 110 vessels were built domestically, and will be assessed and reviewed for safety before being used," he added.

"These vessels will be used during the new Iranian year (starts March 21,2020) holiday peak to expand tourism," he added.
