Iran's trade surplus during the first nine months of the current Iranian year (began March 21,2019) had reached to $100 million, said the Head of Trade Promotion Organization of Iran Hamid Zadboum, Trend reports via ILNA.
"Iran's export in nine months of current Iranian year was $31.9 billion while country's import was $31.8 billion," said Zadboum.
"The country's trade is balanced. Despite heavy sanctions Iran's trade value in past nine months was $64 billion," he added.
"In addition to current $24 billion worth of exports to the neighboring countries, Iran has the potential to boost its exports to $100 billion with its neighbors. The US was not successful in breaking our ties with neighbors," he said.
"Iran's Trade Promotion Organization plans to improve exports by signing new agreements and one of the important agreements is with Eurasia," he added.
Following the re-impose of US sanctions against Iran, the country has faced challenges in export sector due to banking and money transfers issues.
