Azerbaijan’s alcohol production exceeded 500,000 deciliters by the results of 2019, Chairman of Azerbaijan Wine Manufacturers and Exporters Association Elchin Madatov told Trend.
Madatov added that most of these volumes were exported.
“In this period, over 460,000 deciliters of wine were exported abroad. In monetary terms, this indicator amounted to over $6 million. Wine products were exported mainly to Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Central Asia and China. At the same time, the volume of export of alcoholic products to these countries tended to increase throughout the past year,” Madatov said.
During this period, over 80 percent of supplied products accounted for the Russian market.
“In 2019, Azerbaijani wine products were also exported to countries of Eastern Europe. At the same time, Poland became the new market where alcoholic beverages were supplied. The wine products of several Azerbaijani companies involved in the alcohol market were exported to this country,” Madatov said.
The main exporters of Azerbaijani wine products are Sheki Winery, Jalilabad Winery, Ganja Winery, Goygol Winery, as well as a number of private companies involved in the production of alcoholic beverages.
