TEHRAN, Iran, Feb.9
Trend:
Share of Iran in Eurasia's import and export remains small, said an official in the Supreme Council of Iran's Free Trade , Industrial and Special Economic Zones.
"Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member states' import stands at $327 billion. For example, 76 percent of import account for Russia, 12 percent - Belarus, 10 percent - is from Kazakhstan, but Iran's share is only 0.3 percent in Eurasian market," said Mohammad Khazraie Manesh, Trend reports citing IRNA.
"Eurasia region exports reach is $542 billion, and $1.8 billion of the figure accounts for Iran, while Iran's export to the region stands at 0.3 percent," the official added. "Iran's total export value is $108 billion and its import value is $50 billion. However, EAEU countries are not among our major destinations, so there should be more focus on the trade with them," the official said.
"Export of 503 items by Iran is considered under preferential tariffs agreement; 75 percent of them are industrial goods and 25 percent are agricultural goods. No export tariff is applied to 45 items with total value $27 billion in Eurasian market, so Iran should cover this market and receive profit," he said.
