Iran's dairy exports up

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Feb. 16

Iran's exports of milk and dairy products increased by 12 percent in the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 to Jan. 20, 2020), compared to the same period of the previous Iranian year, Spokesperson of Iran's Customs Administration (IRICA) Rouhollah Latifi said, Trend reports with reference to IRICA.

Iran exported 331,800 tons of milk and dairy products for $358 million during the reported 10-month period, Latifi said.

The IRICA spokesperson noted that for comparison, Iran exported 297,000 tons of dairy products in the same period of the preceding Iranian year.

Iran exported ice cream, dry milk, various cheeses, yogurt, sour cream, butter and other dairies to 33 countries in the reported 10-month period, Latifi said.

Iraq, Afghanistan and Russia accounted, respectively, $266 million, $54 million and $43 million of Iran's revenues from dairy exports in the reported period, the spokesperson said, adding that more than 90 percent of Iran's milk and dairy products were exported to these three countries.

According to Rouhollah Latifi, Iran exports 20 types of dairy products to neighboring, as well as European countries.
