For the first time in Iran, a vessel for the support of fishing ships has been successfully manufactured by the Iran Shipbuilding and Offshore Industries Complex Company (ISOICO), said Allahmorad Afifipour, director general of Iran’s Hormozgan Ports and Maritime Administration, Trend reports referring to the Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization’s website.
The vessel manufactured by Iranian experts is intended to transport products stored in the refrigerator, provide various support to the fishing vessels, collect and store the caught fish, according to the report.
The vessel, called “Pars Sadaf 1”, has fish storage facilities with the volume of 900 cubic meters and a cooling tunnel with the volume of 100 cubic meters, Afifipour said.
It also has a fuel storage facilities with the volume of 500 tons and drinking water storage facilities with the volume of 350 tons, reads the report.
Afifipour noted that the vessel is undergoing tests and will be licensed until the end of this Iranian year (March 21, 2020).
