Azerbaijan's Brightman company to enter new foreign markets

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Feb. 27

By Fidan Babayeva – Trend:

Brightman company, an Azerbaijani producer of canned fruits and vegetables, plans to enter new foreign markets, Director of the company Afet Ahmadova told Trend.

Currently, canned fruits and vegetables are exported to Ukraine, Russia, the UAE and the US. The largest exports in 2019 were to the CIS markets, in particular, to Ukraine and Russia, which are traditional importers of Azerbaijan.

“We produce 22 types of products, and our current task is to increase sales of all types of products. We export 15 types of products to Russia, 19 types of products to Ukraine, and we also plan to increase this number in 2020,” Ahmadova said.

The director noted that an average price of one exported bank in 2019 was $1.5, and currently remains unchanged.

“We are going to increase export volume and expand export geography to Saudi Arabia and countries of Persian Gulf in 2020. We are also working on the organization of export to the countries of Northern Europe,” Ahmadova said.

The director emphasized that the concept of the company is to produce healthy and safe products without the use of any flavors, colorants or chemical additives used in the food industry.

“Ahmadova also said that the priority is the promotion of Azerbaijani products on the world market, adding that Brightman’s products are successfully sold outside the country under the Made in Azerbaijan brand.

In October 2016, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed a decree On the Large-Scale Promotion of Local Non-Oil Products in Foreign Markets under the Made in Azerbaijan brand.

This decree covers ten different support mechanisms to stimulate export and promote the Made in Azerbaijan brand abroad.

Depending on the type of mechanism, the costs of their implementation, in whole or in part, are paid by the state budget.
