Singapore's One Petra company eyes waste-management project in Uzbekistan

The Singapore-based company is interested in implementing the concept of innovative sustainable waste management in Uzbekistan, Trend reports with reference to the press service of Foreign Investment Agency of Uzbekistan.

Foreign Investment Agency hosted a meeting with representatives of the Singapore One Petra Holdings Pte Ltd company headed by its CEO Dennis Locke.

During the talks, representatives of One Petra noted that their visit to the country was organized with the assistance of Ambassador of Uzbekistan in Singapore to get acquainted with innovative waste management system in Uzbekistan.

Dennis Locke stressed that the company is interested in implementing the concept of innovative sustainable waste management in Uzbekistan. He shared Singapore's experience in recycling and utilization of waste due to increasing population growth and lack of land for landfill allocation.

One Petra Holdings Pte Ltd company specializing in recycling of food waste, with further creation of organic fertilizers on their basis, was actively involved in the state program of Singapore on domestic waste management.

During the negotiations possible participation of the Singapore company in projects in the tourism industry of Uzbekistan was discussed.

The company has also shown great interest in projects on construction of hotels and housing complexes. In this regard, details of the procedure of registration and launch of the company's operation in Uzbekistan, as well as opportunities to attract labor resources from abroad were discussed.

Summing up the meeting, the sides noted the need to organize a second meeting after the visit of representatives of the Singaporean company in Namangan and Ferghana regions.
