Selected taxpayers in Uzbekistan receive refunds from state

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 15

During the coronavirus quarantine period, a refund of 444.7 billion soum ($43.7 million) was made to the accounts of economic entities of Uzbekistan, which apply zero rate of VAT on exports, Trend reports citing the State Tax Committee of Uzbekistan.

"The process of filing documents and VAT refund was significantly simplified. Now taxpayers just need to submit an application for VAT refund in electronic form to the State Tax Committee," the message said.

From the first days of introduction of the quarantine regime, according to data as of May 10, 228 taxpayers have been refunded 444.7 billion soum ($43.7 million). Of these, 300.5 billion soum ($29.5 million) are the funds of large taxpayers.

Tashkent entrepreneurs receive 167.9 billion soum ($16.4 million) and Ferghana exporters more than 107.7 billion soum ($10.5 million).

"The number of exporters applying to the State Tax Committee on this issue is increasing day by day. Business entities, whose reports revealed issues, can correct them and re-submit," the report says.
