Pesticide production increased by 2.2 times in Kazakhstan over first four months of 2020, from 2.3 to 5.1 billion tenge ($5.5 million to $12.3 million), Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development.
Nitrogen fertilizer production increased from 118,700 to 149,400 tons, that of phosphate fertilizers from 55,600 to 64,200 tons.
The main manufacturers of mineral fertilizers are Kazphosphate LLP (phosphate fertilizer production), the average annual phosphorus fertilizer production capacity of which is 405,000 tons. The share of Kazphosphate LLP on the local market is over 99 percent.
KazAzot JSC (production of nitrogen fertilizers) is also a Kazakh fertilizer manufacturer, the average annual capacity of nitrogen fertilizers of which is 398,900 tons.
The ministry noted that thanks to the modernization of Kazphosphate LLP and KazAzot JSC, held within the framework of the Industrialization Map, production of phosphorus fertilizers at the ventures increased fourfold, that of nitrogen fertilizers - twofold.
The main producers of pesticides or chemical plant protection products in Kazakhstan are Astana-Nan LLP, ShchelokovoAgrohim-Kazakhstan LLP (Akmola region), Agrochemistry LLP (Almaty city), Kosagrokommerts LLP (Almaty region), AgroKhimProgress LLP, Kaztrastkem LLP (Pavlodar region).
For the most part these companies produce herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, desiccants, defoliants, growth regulators. The average annual capacity of the companies is 27,300 tons of products.
Additionally, within the framework of the Industrialization Map, in AgroHimProgress LLP in Pavlodar and in the Stepnogorsk branch of Astana-Nan LLP were modernized and the production of chemical plant protection products increased by 4.5 times.
