Uzbekistan restructuring entities operating in economy sector

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 16

As many as 171 non-sector facilities were transferred to the State Assets Management Agency of Uzbekistan since its creation in January 2019, Trend reports with reference to the agency.

Sixty-eight of them are being prepared for sale, 93 are in the process of trade and 10 were sold.

The restructuring of six companies such as Uzbekneftegaz, Uzbekenergo, Uzsuvkurilish, Uzsuvtaminot, Uzmilibank and Humo Air, including 95 system enterprises, was completed to organize effective management of state assets.

Meanwhile, restructuring of nine companies and organization including Uzpakhtasanoat, Uzdonmahsulot, Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Complex, Uzagroservis as well as geological exploration, road construction, publishing and printing companies and football clubs is currently underway, said the agency.

In addition, six network enterprises were placed under the trust management: JSC Yangi Angren Thermal Power Plant (TPP), JSC Angren TPP and JSC Uzbekkumir were transferred to Central Asia Energy LLC, Fergana oil refinery LLC was transferred to Jizzakh Petroleum LLC; Tashkent Zoo LLC was transferred to Wildlife Care LLC, and JSC Ammofos-Maxam was transferred to JSC Almalyk Mining And Metallurgical Complex.
